IMPORTANT - DON'T MISS OUT - COMPLETE THE FORTHCOMING CENSUS FORM!

In the middle of March, you'll get a census questionnaire in the post asking for information about your household and the people living or staying there on census day - 27 March. And if you’re unsure about anything or have difficulty completing your census questionnaire, there’ll be lots of ways you can get help.

If you haven’t returned your questionnaire by 6 April 2011, a census collector will visit your home to answer questions and help you fill it in. Remember, you are required by law to complete the census.

Importantly, when it asks for your religion (Question 20) make sure you tick Hindu.

See our special Census page for more information or log on to the website http://2011.census.gov.uk/en/index.php (New Win (New Win))

MIDLANDS LAUNCH OF NATIONAL SEWA DAY

On: Saturday 26th March at 7:30pm (with dinner thereafter
At: Shree Birmingham Pragati Mandal, 10 Sampson Road, Sparkbrook, Birmingham, B11 1JL

RSVP by 20th March 2011: westmidlands@sewaday.org

WHAT IS SEWA DAY?

Many organisations and local community groups organise and participate in charitable projects that promote worthy causes and the concept of service.  However, these different organisations across the country seldom come together to participate in activities on a national scale.

Sewa Day is a united and collective effort by our entire community in doing good deeds on the same day every year.  We hope this will create a symbol of synergy and common action, breaking down barriers and enable usually independent groups to work together at least one day each year.

We seek to involve everyone in this endeavour - from infants through to pensioners.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Last year, over 50 organisations signed up for the Sewa Day initiative and around 5,000 people across the UK participated, giving time to many worthy causes.   This year we hope that you/your organisation will be able to provide support to enable many more thousands of people do good deeds on the Sewa Day which will take place on 25 September 2011
